2. TRIAL INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT
If you are undecided about learning to fly and would like to “test the water first”, we suggest you take a Trial Instructional Flight (TIF). This trial flight is an abridged first lesson starting from $130.00. For about 20 minutes you experience the thrill of flying an aircraft and if like most people be completely convinced you want to continue training. In which case, the introductory flight will count towards your private pilot licence training.
The TIF puts you under no obligation to continue with further training.
3. AVIATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND STUDENT PILOT LICENCE
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) will allow you to fly for a short time before requiring you to take a medical as part of issuing a student pilot licence. A straight forward medical examination is needed and can be conducted by an approved Designated Aviation Medical Examiner. In Rockhampton one of our Aero Club committee members is the CASA approved D.A.M.E. and will be happy to help you with your Aviation Medical. He will also assist you with any questions you may have about pre-existing medical conditions or other aspects of Aviation Medicine.
